The video compact disk or the VCD is widely used. This makes use of MPEG-1 compression technique and the output format as dat. The videos you watch in the personal computer are mostly of the format AVI. But AVI is not supported by the VCD player, if you want to watch the AVI movies on the VCD player means, you must convert the format of the AVI video format to VCD compatible video format. Software: “Advanced X Video Convector” this is one among the widely used video conversion software and a CD/dvd burner software “VCDWizard ” or “nero”. You can download these freeware from the internet. If you can’t get the full version of the software, then the trail version itself is enough to do the conversion.
Install: Now install the downloaded software to the computer and run them.
Media: Now your work is to choose the needed media for conversion. You can do this task by clicking on the “add file” button available in the software. This opens a dialog box, which asks you to select the media. In a single time it allows you add multiple numbers of video files. So select all the needed media files for conversion and click on the “open” button. All the needed files are added to the conversion list.
Format: Here comes the output format. Choose the format as VCD-ntsc as the output format.
Burning: After the conversion is over, the converted files will be saved in your local hard disk. Run the “nero” CD burner software. Here you must click on the CD icon present in the list. This will opens you a set of options, here select the needed format, in our case it is “video CD”. This option will make a video CD for you at the time after the burning process is over.
Here you must also select the input format of the video, which is the format outputted by the “Advanced X Video Convertor”. As specified above, it is the VCD-ntsc format. Select the appropriate radio button for the input format.
Final: Locate the converted files to the burner software. You can add all the needed files at a time itself. The burner allows you to specify the name for the CD. The software allows you to choose the writing speed for the CD. Select the maximum writing speed available. In the write method, select the disk-at-once option. Now click on the “write” button. The burning process initiates and you could get the CD in few minutes.
